The Palmwag Concession is an area of 5,500
km 2 in the Kunene Region of North West Namibia. This region provides
habitat for a variety of rare species of plants and animals, including
those adapted to the semi-desert conditions such as elephants, mountain
zebra and giraffe. This tented camp, set in dramatic and rugged mountain
scenery in northern Damaraland, offers a true wilderness experience, bringing
you as close to nature as comfortably possible.

This is the land where time stands still, where the modern world and its
cares are forgotten, where the plants and animals have evolved side by
side with their environment over millennia.
To get the most from your wilderness experience, plan to spend at least
two nights. The Etendeka Tourist Concession, set in the foothills of the
Grootberg with its dramatic landscape of flat-topped hills and expansive
plains, comprises of 40000 hectares of pristine wilderness.
Etendeka Mountain Camp Accommodation
For those who loves the outdoors, it offers an escape from modern living.
The camp has ten shaded twin bedded tents, each with a flush toilet, wash
basin and 'bush' shower beside it.
With a maximum of 16 guests you are assured of personal attention in a
relaxed and informal atmosphere.
Every effort has been made to disturb the land as little as possible with
the use of solar heated water, solar ovens for evening meals and bucket
showers.

The camp is remote even by Namibian standards and it is well over an hour's
drive from the main road on a rugged 4x4 track. For this reason the camp
offers a transfer service to all its guests (there is a car park for guests'
vehicles at the C40 pick-up point).

Location
Set in the rugged mountain scenery in Northern Damaraland.
Access is by reservation only. Take D2620 from Khorixas or Kamanjab, or
join it from the Skeleton Coast Park.
Turn west along D3706 towards Sesfontein and follow the sign boards to
the transfer point.
Transfer time is 15h30 in winter and 16h00 in summer.
