Otjiwarongo was established in 1892 and is considered one of the oldest
towns in the country. The word “Otjiwarongo” is derived
from the Herero language meaning the beautiful place.
The lodge offers five modern luxury chalets with decorations that reflect
ethnic African elegance.

Set amidst the unspoilt beauty of Namibia’s oldest game farm, Otjiwa
Safari Lodge is the ultimate holiday destination for those in search of
an authentic African experience that meets the very best in international
tourism standards. True Namibian hospitality and personal service go without
saying.
Indigenous African ambience with magnificent views over vast sandy savannah,
are the characteristics of this new stylish lodge, situated south of Otjiwarongo,
close to the popular Waterberg Plateau Park.
The chalets are nestled in a panoramic mountain slope, with en-suite bathrooms,
air conditioning, mini-bar and pool in the lounge garden.
Mountain Lodge
Otjiwa Mountain Lodge offers the perfect mélange of rustic charm and
world-class luxury, providing an ideal vantage point from which to appreciate
Namibia’s natural beauty at its best.
The Lodge features five modern, privately situated two-bed chalets, all
with panoramic views and reflecting indigenous African style in their
décor.
All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with bath and shower and are equipped
with mini-bars and air-conditioning. A laundry and cleaning service is
included. The tariff also includes breakfast, whilst light lunches and
dinners are available at an additional charge upon request.
Enjoy personal attention and home-style cuisine served in our dining room during any meal, relax in our cosy lounge and bar area, or cool off in the adjoining romantic swimming pool while indulging the senses with a magnificent view of the savannah bushveld and the Omboroko Mountains.
The Nest
The Nest is a fully-equipped, modern house, privately situated in the
bush and decorated in style. A lit-up waterhole ensures guests will not
miss the thirsty rhino visiting its drinking spot at night.
Ideally suited for groups, this five-bedroom, five-bathroom self-catering
unit accommodates up to 16 people (10 adults and six children).
The Nest features an open-plan kitchen fully equipped with a stove, microwave,
and refrigerator. The unit is also equipped with air-conditioning and
fans.
A private swimming pool with braai facilities set amongst the trees offers
the perfect spot for refreshing relaxation after a long day beneath African
skies.
Eagle’s Rest
Eagle’s Rest consists of seven fully-equipped, self-catering units that
vary in size from four to six-bed chalets:
- Units 1, 2, and 3: Two-bedroom, one-bathroom chalets with two single
beds in each bedroom, sleeping four persons. One of the bedrooms in
each chalet features a private, open veranda overlooking the bushveld
and offering views of Namibia’s enchanting sunsets.
- Units 4, 5, 6, and 7: Two-bedroom, one-bathroom chalets with two single
beds in each room and one sleeper couch sleeping two persons. Each unit
sleeps six persons in total and features an open veranda.
Each house is beautifully decorated in warm African style. Each unit’s
sleeper-decorated, open-plan kitchen provides everything needed to prepare
a feast. Alternatively, guests may enjoy using the outdoor, open fireplace.
Otjiwa Campsite
Nestling beneath a canopy of acacia trees, the Otjiwa campsite is the ideal spot to get away from it all. Situated next to a beautiful riverbed, the site offers an authentic African camping experience with no electricity available.
- Three well-kept and spacious camping areas, ideal for larger groups or families, each with its own fireplace and washing area.
- Seven smaller, more private campsites, each offering its own fireplace and water supply, as well as a smaller ablution area.
The sites are covered in clean river sand, and a well-planned ablution area provides separate facilities for men and women. All campsites are easily accessible by regular vehicles, requiring no off-road capabilities.

The ranch is a veritable treasure trove of African wildlife and boasts a variety of some 25 game species that freely roam its 12 000 ha expanse of bushveld.
Amongst these is one of the country’s largest herds of sable antelope,
the precious white rhinoceros, roan antelope, as well as big herds of plains
game.
Renowned for its beautiful dams, Otjiwa is also home to rich bird life, amongst which the majestic African fish eagle.
