Otjiwarongo was established in 1892, and is considered one of the oldest
towns in the country. The word “Otjiwarongo” is derived
from the Herero language meaning the beautiful place. Aloegrove Safari
Lodge is situated 36 kms north-east of Otjiwarongo, in the middle of
a private game park.

Aloegrove Safari Lodge is situated 36 kms north-east of Otjiwarongo, in
the middle of a private game park.
It is set on 8,300ha of farmland, of which 4,000ha has been allocated for
the lodge and game, with the remaining hectares being used for cattle farming.
Sited some 1,630m above sea level, the 360º view over the vast savanna
and the Waterberg Plateau, affords magnificent views.
As the lodge specialises in small private groups, the emphasis is on undivided
personal attention, and they pride themselves in putting their guests first.
Aloegrove Safari Lodge Accommodation
We specialise in hosting small private groups of up to twelve (12) guests, ensuring that everyone receives personalised attention.
Guests are accommodated in en-suite bungalows, each featuring its own balcony. We offer:
- Rooms with one double bed and one single bed
- Rooms with self-catering facilities
- Rooms with two double beds
- A bathroom with a large half-round bath and shower
- A fully equipped kitchen with an indoor barbecue (wood provided by the owner)
The bungalows boast a spectacular view of the Waterberg Plateau, the leopard’s
camp, and one of the waterholes.
