Protea Hotels Ondangwa is opposite the BP petrol station on the B1 National Road to Oshakati.
Ondangwa is a town in the Oshana Region of northern Namibia, located about 80 km from the Angolan border.
The town is situated along the B1 and serves as one of the residences of the Kings of Ondonga. Currently, King Eliphas Kauluma, father of the reigning king, resides here. Most of the town’s residents speak Oshindonga.
The landscape is flat and monotonous, dotted with settlements. Mopane, Marula, and Wild Fig trees occasionally appear between the fields and kraals, along with Makalani Palm trees, which symbolise the Ovambo area.
After heavy rains, many small lakes and ponds form as the Cuvelai River brings water from the north to the Etosha Pan.
