What To Know About Omaruru

Omaruru is a town in the Erongo Region of Namibia, known for its annual festival, winery, and dinosaur footprints. The name Omaruru means "bitter milk" in the Otjiherero language, which comes from the Herero cattle that used to graze on local bushes that made their milk bitter. Omaruru is home to the Kristall Kellerei, one of only four wine producers in Namibia and the only manufacturer of Namibian brandy.

Other activities and attractions in Omaruru include visiting natural sites and historical events, shopping, and dining at local restaurants.

Omaruru has many affordable accommodation options, including camping sites, self-catering units, bed and breakfasts, guest houses, and hotels.
