Hotel Heinitzburg - the brightest jewel in the
land of Gems. . .
Windhoek, the gateway and capital of the country, lies 1689 m above
sea level, embedded by the “Khomas Highland”. Hotel
Heinitzburg is situated on the “Luxury Hill”, five minutes
drive from the city center, overlooking the capital and it’s
remarkable highlands.
Commissioned in 1914 by Count von Schwerin for his fiancée,
Margarethe von Heinitz. In 1996 this German castle was turned into
a private owned Hotel with 10 rooms. Additional 6 Rooms, a Gourmet
restaurant “Leo’s at the Castle”, a new Kitchen
and a Wine Cellar as well as a new Swimming pool next to the “Pool
Side Deluxe Rooms” were finished in May 2000.
The Heinitzburg today offers 16 spacious generously appointed en-suite
rooms, each with its own superb view.

on the terrace along with a superb view over the city and its surroundings
– beside that, the terrace is open during the whole day for
Coffee, Cakes from our own patisserie, Snacks and Sundowner-cocktails
– as our terrace is a famous viewpoint for spectacular sunsets.
Felsenkeller
This cellar built into the mountain rock offers seating for max.
24 person for lunch or dinner, can be requested also as a meeting
room, as well as it offers a view on the carefully selected vintage
treasures paying lasting tribute to the legends of South Africa’s
wine history – the perfect venue For private groups.
