Auas Game Lodge was previously utilised as commercial farm land.
When the land was acquired by the current owner, he had a vision
of converting the land back to it’s pristine, original state,
with the long term goal of sustainable utilization of this natural
resource, for the benefit of all local and foreign visitors
When one takes a drive or a walk through the veld, and views the
variety of flora and fauna now existing on this land, one can appreciate
that his dream has largely become a reality.
· All sixteen rooms have their own en suite bathrooms, as
well as their own private verandah for reading, bird-watching or
simply enjoying a coffee.
· In the summer months, the rooms are quite a comfortable
temperature, and if one leaves the windows open, one can be assured
of a lovely cool breeze. In the winter months the weather becomes
quite chilly – please do make use of the extra blankets in
your wardrobe.
· Please note ladies, there is a hairdryer in the draw of
the vanity.
· Our water is pumped from underground boreholes into our
water tanks, and as such it makes for quite good drinking water.
If you suffer from a sensitive stomach, please rather use the bottled
water available at the bar. Namibia is a very dry country, and as
such water is a very precious resource. Please assist us to conserve
it, by using it sparingly.
· There are very few mosquitoes in this area. In the rainy
season there may be a few more, so please take the necessary precautions,
by using a good quality mosquito repellant, and covering your arms
and legs with light cotton clothing, especially at sunset. Do not
be too concerned if you do receive a few bites, as this is not a
malaria area.
· We do have a laundry service on offer… laundry lists
and bags can be found in your wardrobe!
· If you do have any allergies, or special dietary requirements,
please inform our front office personnel so that they may pass on
this information to our kitchen. As this is a game farm, we will
try to feature a variety of venison on the menu for your enjoyment.
We grow many of our own herbs and vegetables on the farm also, and
will try to incorporate these into the menus wherever possible.
· Each room is equipped with a telephone, which is monitored
by our central switchboard at the front office.
· All drinks ordered from the bar will automatically be charged
to your room account. We try to stock an interesting selection of
wines, spirits and liquers – please ask our barman for more
information on the local specialities.
· We accept cash, cheques and credit cards – VISA or
Master Card please.
