Each spacious campsite offers an exceptional view of the Gauntegab Riverbed
and rock formations. The campsites feature individual ablution facilities
elevated on stilts and discreetly tucked into the treetops.
Braai facilities also double as water heaters (using a donkey system) to
provide hot running water for the open-air showers. The campsites are shaded
by large Mopane trees and surrounded by a low rock wall for added privacy.
Madisa Safari Tents

including desert elephants, may pass through. Always stay alert and responsible.
Here are some tips for when elephants are nearby:
- Do not shine torches at elephants, as this can make them aggressive.
- Do not run; stop and slowly walk away.
- Avoid screaming or making loud noises.
- Keep dogs from barking.
- If moving around at night, listen for breaking branches or rumbling
sounds.
- Do not use flash photography. Observe from a distance and remain calm
to ensure the elephants stay calm as well.
- Generator Use: A generator runs from sundown to about 9pm, mainly to provide lighting at campsites. It is advised to bring necessary backup batteries to keep fridges or freezers running during your stay.
