The Rest Camp is located 3 km from the village
Kamanjab, which is approximately 1,200 m above sea level. The landscape
in the centre of the camp is similar to that of a savanna, surrounded
by gentle hills. On these hills you can find a Sundowner where you can
sit back and enjoy the majestic sunsets and simply relax.

The village Kamanjab is 3 km away from the camp site and has three supermarkets,
where you can find everything you need for personal use, as a holidaymaker
or as a camper.
You’ll be amazed at what you can buy so far away from the capitol,
Windhoek. The Shell station is located directly at the only intersection
in Kamanjab.
Accommodation
Campsite
We offer 8 parking spaces at our campsite. The slots are spacious, so
that you have your privacy and are not disturbed by the nocturnal sounds
of your neighbours.
You can find a fire pit, water and electrical connections at the slots.
Our campers are welcome to enjoy the bar and a seat around the campfire.
Bungalows
We have captured the charm of Africa through the designs of our bungalows.
They have been specifically built with grass roofs so as to withstand
the hottest of days.
Even if you still feel too warm, you can use a fan. Since we have tested
the beds ourselves, we can assure you that they are very comfortable.
Each bungalow has hot and cold running water, and can of course be used
without disturbing those using the lavatory. Each bungalow has its own
terrace and campfire which will give you undisturbed time to relax.

Game watching: While enjoying your stay at our camp site,
guests will encounter many different kinds of animals such as; giraffes,
kudu, oryx, springbok, warthog, baboon, hyrax, and even the very shy mountain
zebra.
Tours: Kamanjab is located at the centre of many attractive
sights. Whatever you have planned for your whole trip – even if
you are staying at The Kamanjab Rest Camp, it is worthwhile to stay a
little longer and visit the nearby sights marked on the map (in a star-shape).
The tour description corresponds to the routes’ specific colour.
Lapa & Bar: The Lapa and the area around the camp
fire are wonderful locations for information and communication. Here campers
and bungalow guests meet and exchange their experiences and thoughts.
We are more than happy to welcome guests and it is of course very important
to us that everyone has enough food to eat and beverages to drink.
Unfortunately, those expecting a 5-star cuisine in the middle of Africa
will not get their moneys’ worth. What we do guarantee, is a great
breakfast and a hearty dinner. We offer a great kitchen, which is characterized
by European and African cuisine.
Twyfelfontein: 170 km away you can find the “Spring
of Doubt”. Some of the most important rock paintings that are approximately
5000 years old can be located in the vicinity of Twyfelfontein, Damaraland.
In particular, depictions of giraffes can be frequently found here.
Close to Twyfelfontein are the “Burnt Mountain”, and the “Organ
pipes”, wondrous geologic formations.

are only permitted to visit the Himbas once a day. It is a fascinating
experience to observe the nomadic Himba in their relatively original way
of life.

Cliff’ (Afrikaans: Vingerklip). This is rock was formed by erosion,
30 million years ago.

you can see these cute animals under conservation during the evening.
Etoscha Pan: 170 km away you will reach the Anderson Gate, one

the originality of the wilderness there.

at a hot water spring. Although only a few years ago this untouched location
could be accessed freely.
You are now required to pay a few Namibian dollars as an entrance fee.
Nevertheless, it will be an unforgettable experience and well worth your
dollars.
Grootbergpass: 90 km away is the Grootberg – a
mesa in the Kunene Region around 1,640 m in height. The mountain is volcanic
in origin and forms a south-open, U-shaped plateau above the canyon of
the Klip Rivier.
The mountain can be accessed through the mountain pass Grootberg or from
the C39 gravel road at Twyfelfontein.
Sesfontein: 170 km away is Sesfontein (‘Six Fountains’),
located North West of Khorixas in the area between Damaraland and Kaokoland.
