The Kalahari Game Lodge rises over the last dunes towards the eastern border of Namibia, adjacent to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park; it lights up the early evening sky with the Boma fire already inviting the guests to its warmth.
This gem to be discovered has re-opened its doors on the 1st of June 2014 with a whole new freshly revamped look as well as brand-new additions!
The Lodge conforms aesthetically well to the surrounding landscape as if part of the Kalahari itself. Similarly, the furnishings, decor, and trimmings are indicative of a true Kalahari oasis.
Kalahari Game Lodge is located in Namibia on the northern side of the Kalahari, bordering the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, west of Mata-Mata. The lodge covers approximately 37,209 hectares and is positioned between 25° 40' 11" S latitude in the south and 25° 24' 26" S latitude in the north, as well as 19° 47' 28" E longitude in the west and 20° 00' 00" E longitude in the east.
The Kalahari Game Lodge is set on the scenic C15 road in the Karas region, just 18km from the Mata-Mata border post within the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. Accessing the lodge requires travelling through the park.
Alternatively, the lodge can be reached from South Africa's southern side by crossing the Vioolsdrift Border post, travelling northwards through Namibia to the eastern side via Grunau, through Keetmanshoop, and then following the C17 road towards Koes. At the C15 junction, turn right to arrive at Kalahari Game Lodge.
For guests travelling from Upington in South Africa, entry into Namibia is available at the Rietfontein border post. From there, head towards Aroab, take the C11 road to Koes, continue on the C17, and then join the C15, following it to the lodge.
If coming from Windhoek, the most direct route is to take the B1 south to Mariental, turn left onto the C20 towards Stampriet, and from there, follow the C15 via Gochas to reach Kalahari Game Lodge. Further details are available on the Map section of this webpage.
A road trip across Namibia is an experience you will cherish forever, the freedom to stop wherever you want and explore Namibia on your own terms, for that you will need to hire the right car.
