In the peaceful farm atmosphere, guests can enjoy German-Namibian hospitality, this is a unique adventure, especially for small to medium sized groups who have a specific interests in desert ecology and sustainability.

One of the main attractions of staying here , however , is learning about the farm. Most guests arrive by 15:00, have tea or coffee at 16:00 and then go out on a farm drive for an hour or two.

Since 1926 , Dabis is owned by the Gaugler family and is now run by the fourth
generation. Dabis Guest Farm turn-off is 10 kilometres north of Helmeringhausen
, on the C14 towards Maltahohe.
A 7 kilometre track off the main road , with some dips , brings you to the
farmstead. Dabis has achieved an effective balance between welcoming visitors
and operating as a farm.
In depth the farming techniques will be explained , complete with information on the area’s climate over the last four decades. Dabis now farms mainly with cross-bred sheep , for lamb production , using advanced rotation techniques to survive on the meagre rainfall. Although the main emphasis is on farming , there are a number of small animals around to be seen.
The Gaugler family are more than happy to share their farm with guests and their knowledge can considerably enrich your stay.
