The island accommodates thatched tents, each one with two beds. Every

the river, these bungalows will allow you to do some fishing from the

The thatched roofs guarantee a good thermal regulation, that is, not
too hot in the summer and not too cold in the winter. Every tent has an
en suite bathroom with shower, a toilet and a basin with hot and cold
water. These are open sky bathrooms that will allow you to enjoy the surrounding
nature.
Tree House
Larger bungalows are also available on higher ground, built on high poles,
made of wood and canvas, along with thatched roofs. Conveniently placed
in the middle of the trees, they allow for an incredible view on the Botswana
plains.
Each bungalow has a large bedroom, stylishly furnished; a large en-suite
bathroom as well as an expanding terrace.
Campsite
Situated between the main building and the island. Its surface is covered
by trees which provide shade during the hotter hours of the day. It allows
camping spots on carefully maintained lawn.
The facilities provide showers, toilets and basins, as well as places

Boat Trips
The lodge operates a flat-bottom aluminium boat, for scenic trips on the Kwando
River. The boat features a canvas roof for sun protection. A smaller boat
is available for private parties or fishing excursions. Boat trips depart
early morning or late afternoon to capture ideal light and high wildlife
activity.
Game Drives
Our specially equipped ten seater Land Rover will allow comfortable drives
in the neighbouring parks, under the protection of its canvas roof. “On
request” game drives leave early in the morning and late afternoon,
usually to Mudumu Game Park, and include a relaxing break where drinks and
snacks shall be served.
On request, we can organise a trip of two or more days to the Caprivi Game
Park (fifty kilometres to the north) or to the Mamili Game Park (sixty kilometres
to the south). These expeditions require two vehicles and nights are spent
camping in the bush.
At Mamili Game Park, chances are you won’t be coming into other vehicles,
as it is wild and remote. Our priority is for you to encounter wildlife!
Traditional Village
Just next door to Camp Kwando is the village where most of our staff comes
from. The villagers have created a Traditional Village where they will present
to you various fishing and hunting techniques, as well as their traditions
on their everyday life.
Most of it has been protected for the last centuries. During this visit,
the Medicine Man of the village will show you how different dances were
used against various illnesses or to cure other problems !
Village Schools
We also organise visits to the two local schools bordering the lodge.
Our main impetus is on the quality of teaching, and that it be maintained
at an adequate level.
Thus our concern that all the money you pay for these visits is re-injected
in schooling material. This project is monitored by us, and we track all
donations.
Fishing
Fishing trips on the Kwando River cater for up to four guests. Guests can
catch a variety of fish, including Tiger Fish, which can weigh up to eight
pounds. The lodge’s chef can prepare the catch of the day for dinner.
Scenic Flights
During the high season (May to November) we operate an aircraft at the
lodge in order to allow our clients to visit the area from the sky.
You can book scenic flights of twenty or forty minutes or even more. As
well, we can operate transfer flights to the various local airports (Katima
Mulilo, Livingstone, Maun or Kasane).
Our Cessna 206 can comfortably take up to five passengers and is operated
by our professional pilot. The rates are available on request.

Trips to Mamili
The Camp's proximity to the Mamili National Park, famous for its wilderness,
allows us to organise field trips in order for you to get a taste of the
real bush life. Three day excursions in the Park will allow you to travel
back in time and experience a truly exceptional adventure.
Two vehicles and the appropriate staff will allow parties of up to six
guests to travel to the Park.
On the first morning, upon reaching the camp site, you will enjoy a first
game drive and come back in time for lunch. Though rather basic, the camp
will have such amenities as a shower as well as movable toilets.
Following a rest during the warmest hours of the day, in the shade of large
trees at campsite, off you go to another game drive followed by a solid
dinner and a comfortable night with spacious tents which will have been
installed for you.
More game drives and the usual camp activities on the second day, night
camping in the bush and an early game drive on the third day followed by
lunch and a final two hours drive home to the lodge.
Day Trips to Victoria Falls
Having our own plane at the lodge, we are able to offer day trips to Victoria
Falls (locally known as "Vic Falls"). Should you not feel comfortable
with the idea of a long and rather tedious trip by land, along with a border
crossing which may add on to a hazardous journey, our Cessna 206 will carry
you there with ease in a flight of no more than 90 minutes.
The flight for four passengers will take you to Livingstone in Zambia,
where a car shall bring you to the Falls, much wilder on the Zambian side
than on the Zimbabwean side.
A luncheon shall be served, followed if requested by a couple of relaxing
hours at the pool of one of the Livingstone hotels. Your driver will drop
you at the airport later in the afternoon for a fascinating flight home
to camp.
