The Farm History
This oasis is located 90 km east of Gobabis and just 20 km west of Buitepos
which is the Border post to enter Gauteng via Botswana.
The game and guest farm is situated on 10 000 Ha, which is divided into 5000Ha for cattle farming,
and the remaining 5000 Ha is our game reserve where the guest farm is located.
This farm was founded in 1946 after the 2nd World War when land was given
to former soldiers. Its name came from a magistrate whose daughter’s
name was "Zelda".
The idea of the Guest Farm came from the opening
of the Trans Kalahari Highway, which linked Namibia, Botswana, and South Africa
on a much shorter and more interesting route.
The resident Nharo Bushmen families
The resident Nharo Bushmen families, who have lived in the area for hundreds of years, are proud to share their fascinating heritage and traditional knowledge with our guests.
