Welcome To Klein Aus Vista
It’s where streaks of Namib sand merge with the bleached grasses
of the Pro-Namib in a sensuous slow dance of splendour.
Nestled in the rocky Aus Mountains, the lodge is famed for its extensive
and lovely vistas, best seen from one of the mountain bike or hiking
trails, a viewpoint above the campsite, or from the secluded Eagle’s
Nest Chalets.
Contributing to the scenery, the Wild Horses of the Namib remind us
of untethered freedom and appeal to our soul to embrace the wonderful
adventure of life in its entirety.

ATTRACTIONS:
Wild Horses of the Namib
They roam the sparsely vegetated plains of the Namib Desert in small groups: the Wild Horses. Over the decades they have conquered the desert as their habitat. They come to drink from the trough at Garub, some 20 km west of Aus. From a hide you can watch the horses and take pictures.
Kolmanskop and Lüderitz
From 1908 diamonds caused a village with grand mansions to sprout from the
desert. Today, sand has taken possession of the buildings: the deserted diamond
settlement of Kolmanskuppe offers numerous attractive themes for photos.
On a guided tour through the 'Ghost Town' you will learn more about everyday life
in the settlement and about its rise and fall. The harbour town of Lüderitz
on the Atlantic coast boasts a number of magnificent Jugendstil buildings.
Visit historical Goerke House and the 'Felsenkirche' (Church on the Rock), go for
a stroll through town to the recently completed Waterfront or drive to Diaz
Point where Portuguese seafarers erected a massive stone cross more than 500
years ago.
Gondwana Sperrgebiet Rand Park
The Succulent Karoo - after soft winter rains a sea of bright flowers in the
vast plains of the southern Namib. In Gondwana Sperrgebiet Rand Park near Aus
you experience the most biodiverse desert on earth. It is a landscape of granite
mountains, dry riverbeds and sweeping plains.
To the east the park (510 km²) borders on the Nama Karoo and to the north on the dune sea of the Namib, where
the Wild Horses roam. Explore the park on our hiking trails - and join us on
a scenic drive to see the unique flora and the fascinating Wild Horses. Lüderitz
and the deserted former diamond settlement of Kolmanskuppe are no more than
an hour's drive away.
ACTIVITIES:
Mountain Biking

The trails cater for both beginners and experienced hikers and we have six different hiking trails to choose from.
